DURUM
ND Grano
ND Grano Durum
The NDCISA has rights to the production and distribution of ND Grano durum wheat seed, which was released in 2017.
With a high yield potential comparable to Carpio, good straw strength, and excellent agronomic traits, this variety has a good test weight and medium maturity. When compared to Carpio and Joppa, ND Grano is similar in height but has a higher test weight, DON accumulation, and smaller kernels. The cadmium uptake is lower than the well-know cadmium uptake of Canadian variety of AC Strongfield.
This variety is resistant to leaf and stem rust diseases, while the severity of fusarium head blight disease is similar to that of Joppa. ND Grano’s end use color and firmness characteristics are also favorable.
This durum variety is protected under Plant Variety Title V as a means to ensure genetic purity and can only be sold as a class of certified seed.
