Mission Statement

NDCISA’s mission is to enhance North Dakota’s Agriculture through the production, promotion and distribution of pure seed.

About NDCISA

Established in 1929, North Dakota Crop Improvement and Seed Association (NDCISA) is a non-profit organization supported by county dues, certified seed grower membership, check-offs, and royalties from the seed increase program. NDCISA works closely with the Experiment Stations, State Seed Department, the Extension Service, and seed growers to promote general crop improvement practices and increase varieties best adapted to the state, and to make seed easily available to farmers.

We actively support research, extension, and educational programs. We encourage the development and implementation of practical and scientific crop production practices and serve as a communication link for North Dakota crop producers in legislative matters. NDCISA sponsors youth activities such as the 4-H crops judging contest at the North Dakota Winter Show.

NDCISA has been instrumental in the production and distribution of new varieties. We coordinate with the Foundation Seedstocks project and County Crop Improvement Associations during new variety releases and increases. Through certified seed promotional money, we encourage the use of quality seed with an advertising campaign, promotional giveaways, and crop shows.

In these changing times, the agricultural community needs to remain unified and strong. NDCISA is a strong, supportive group that will fight for the North Dakota farmer because we are farmers. We truly stand behind our motto…developed by farmers, for farmers.
