Rockford Oat
The North Dakota Agricultural Experiment Station released Rockford oat seed variety in 2008 with seed production and distribution rights obtained by the NDCISA. This variety is protected under Plant Variety Protection Title V to help ensure genetic purity and must be sold as a class of certified seed. As a consistent, high yielding variety, Rockford has a good lodging resistance and high test weight that performs well under a variety of ND growing conditions. Rockford has a medium kernel weight, groat beta-glucan concentration, and grain protein. It also contains a medium groat percentage with a high groat oil concentration. This oat variety is susceptible to stem rust race NA67.
