ND Treasure is a high yielding semi-dwarf six-rowed barley that is intended for the non-malting market. Potential markets are those for pet food, pearling for human food, or livestock feed. Growers are seeing yields often times 15% higher than other commonly grown feed barley varieties. The short strong straw of ND Treasure may make it more suited to higher rates of N fertilizer to increase yield without the fear of increased lodging.
